Meet Our Deacons

“Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus”, (1 Timothy 3:8-13, The Holy Bible, NKJV).

James (Jim) Blake

has been with the church in the lakes region from the beginning, after moving back here from NC and his military duty in 1978. He became a deacon in 1996 and has served first as the deacon in charge of worship and is currently the deacon heading up maintenance. Jim also teaches the high school class and preaches when needed. Jim is employed by the Holderness Prep School in the maintenance department. He lives in Meredith, NH with his wife Ramona and they have two grown children and seven grandchildren.

Dan King

was appointed deacon in charge of the worship service here at the Lakes Region church of Christ in 2006. In addition to his duties of setting up the preaching schedule and worship service duties, he provides thought-provoking lessons in addition to well-researched commentary to both his sermons and conversations. Dan and his wife Janet (who makes a fabulous barbeque pizza) live in Plymouth, NH. They have one son and two daughters.

Will Hamel

serves as the deacon in charge of finances at the Lakes Region church of Christ. He presently teaches the high school bible class and fills in preaching and leading devotionals. Will and his wife Kathy have been members of the Lord’s church since 1981, originally in Lancaster, NH. He has three adult children and four grandchildren.
